![]() ![]() Plantation tours are held from Thursday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm. Civil War camps for youth and reenactments are held at the site annually. You can come here during Civil War reenactments, Lumber Jack campouts, Medieval Festivals, or the Fall Harvest Faire. The Endview Plantation house turns 250 years old this year and now serves as a museum focused on the Civil War. ![]() Many living history events are held here annually as well. Endview (also called Curtis Farm) provides tours of the plantation. Curtis regained possession of Endview after the Civil War, and his descendants continued to live here until 1985. Union regiments also camped around Endview as part of the Federal occupation of nearby Yorkton. The plantation was used as headquarters by Confederate Generals Lafayette McLaws and Robert Tombs during the beginning stages of the 1862 Peninsula campaign. Humphrey Harwood Curtis, acquired the plantation in 1858. His great-great-great grandfather Captain Thomas Harwood owned a 1,500-acre plantation dubbed Queen’s Hith, an Old English term meaning 'river landing'. William Harwood emigrated from England in 1622. The home was built in 1769 for William Harwood. Harwood Plantation is located on Route 238 in the Lee Hall community of Newport News.
